Summary:
Provide manufacturing technical and process expertise to start up and support production on Hydraulic Tool products, at the Jiashan facility.Learn the processing (welding, machining, assembly) of the key product lines, and set up production, including machine installation and startup, programming, operator training, trouble-shooting, and standards development.
Major Tasks and Level Accountability:
1.Equipment installation and startup
a.First part runoff
b.Programming, fixturing, tooling, gauging
c.Operator training, ongoing support and troubleshooting
2.Continuous improvement
a.Continually review the manufacturing process (using Value Stream Maps,and other Lean and Six Sigma techniques) for cost reduction opportunities – material costs, setup costs, cycle time improvement, defect reduction.Define and implement improvements.
b.Same as above, for sourced/purchased products – work with suppliers to reduce costs and improve quality.
Knowledge and Skills:
A comprehensive background on all relevant production processes, including welding, CNC machining, assembly, painting.A working knowledge of costing, CNC programming, and CAD design.Knowledge of Material types and characteristics.Good communication and interpersonal skills needed to interact with employees and vendors, including English language.Ability to communicate with written reports.Ability to work with employees of all levels.
Education or Experience sought:
BS in mechanical or industrial engineering and a minimum 5 years of work experience as a manufacturing or industrial engineer in a manufacturing environment.
