Responsibilities:
1.Requires technical and commercial leadership in tender proposal preparation for the engine, and when applicable, for the consortium supplied equipment including gearbox, propeller systems, generators, and ancillary equipment.
2.Responsible for negotiating technical specifications with the customer that complies with all manufacturer requirements. Broad commercial knowledge is required, as this position is responsible to assist the Sales Manager in final commercial negotiations of all projects under their control.
3.The position must call on shipyards, design houses, and ship operators in pursuit of new sale opportunities, with travel to be expected.
4.The position requires close coordination with sales, project management, and service entities within Caterpillar and LSHM in pursuit of new sales. Direct coordination with Caterpillar factories and consortium partners as well as sub-suppliers is required.
Qualification:
1. Thorough knowledge of company products and applications.
2. College or University degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with preference to marine.
3. Strong oral and written communication skills are required in English and Chinese.
4. Minimum 3 years of direct sales experience in the marine industry for any type of marine product, engine, gear or propeller selling experience a plus.
5. Previous sea-going experience, or shipyard experience, or marine design experience is required (at least 2 year experience in one of these fields).
6. Commercial contract experience with knowledge of contract terms and conditions for normal export type contract.
7. Must have a strong understanding of diesel engines and related shipboard equipment.
